Green Beans with Pine Nuts

When it comes to cook green beans, this simple but elegant recipe is my favorite and always wins over!

Ingredients:
  • 2 lb. of fresh green beans, washed, trimmed and steamed
  • 1 garlic clove
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup lightly toasted pine nuts, just to bring flavor out
  • 2 tbs. balsamic vinegar, I prefer aged
  • 2-3 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • fresh basil

Directions:
1. Cook beans in a steam basket until bright green. I like my beans still slightly crispy.
2. Transfer beans to the bowl
3. Chop garlic finely and add to beans
4.Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, olive oil . Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Serve topped with lightly toasted pine nuts, fresh basil and fresh sourdough bread. Can be served as appetizer or a side dish

Notes: Try to add fresh ground lemon peel for a citrusy note
